They are at it again, they want me on TV again. This time they are coming to my shop and want to see where the Magic happens.

I got a call today from the guy pictured above, Jason Harper, Daybreak reporter for KATV Channel Seven News. Read this excerpt from his job bio:

I'm a little worried because of the bizarre, and hilarious part....

Anyway, they are coming Wednesday and I have xbraces strowed all over the shop, including a layer of twenty-five year old spruce dust, all over everything. I need a maid.

They must have loved you on yur studio appearance to want to come back to your shop. Don't tidy it up too much craftsman's workshops are supposed to be on the edge of chaos. Also, craftsmen are supposed to be slightly eccentric as well. Oh well I guess you qualify!

I hope the phone rings off the hook with commissions.

Tsk tsk... You didn't tell them that you were making guitars using Magic, did you? Well no wonder they want to come and see! Now they're going to find out the truth and think you're one of the bizarre and hilarious folk they interview.
Not good thinking man! Ya gotta be honest about that stuff.

And Matt, it's where the Florentine Cocobolo resides, 15,000 sq. ft. of opulence.



My friend Curt C. owns a fitness center there. I met him by giving him a ride back to the campus from church one Sunday thirty years ago. He mixed mortar for me on my first house. Later I wired and plumbed a three story house for him in Russellville, when I went back to college to get a degree. Funny change of roles, life is like that sometime.

You da man, you da man!!! Way to go Bruce. I too would love to see a video of that program. Any chance of getting it up on the net?

Bruce-- I think that place needs a Dickey guitar for every room. How many guitars do you suppose that would be?

I don't know, but every bedroom in the house has a full bath, walk-in closets, and a real fireplace. It has an elevator, paintings on the ceiling like the Cistine Chapel, a wash bay with drain for cars, a home theatre room, and a complete basement woodworking shop. Which reminds me I loaned Curt a couple planes....

Roy, I still haven't gotten to transcribing the last four minutes, maybe I will soon.... Right now I gotta go drag out my froe and split some braces.

Okay, just got a call from Jason Harper. The morning event planned for today got put on hold. Their satellite truck generator required for live spots is on the fritz. He called from the shop and said the delay meant they'd have to head straight on to Fayetteville.

He said they head to Texas for a ballgame next Wed., but penciled me in for two weeks from now..... bummer.

Well, at least on the bright side, I get to build guitars today!!!!!!!! yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
